Shoulder Pain Pump Recall

Implanted to reduce post-operative pain, shoulder pain pumps are medical devices that:

slowly release a steady amount of pain medication to the shoulder joint to relieve pain and speed recovery times following arthroscopic shoulder surgery
can deliver pain medication for up to 72 hours
are typically removed after five days of use
have never been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for intra-articular use (use within the shoulder joint)

bicep tendonitis
frozen shoulder
