Reglan reviews have been rather mixed, with a fair number of patients reporting satisfaction with Reglan's effectiveness at combating acid reflux, heartburn, vomiting and nausea. However, many of these patients noted that the Reglan side effects in their case were quite troubling and not worth the benefits of the medication.

As one of several prescription drugs that are FDA-approved for gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastroparesis and nausea/vomiting, Reglan treatment has been administered to roughly two million patients in the U.S. Reglan's intended purpose is to make the stomach empty more quickly and the intestines work more efficiently.

For some Reglan users, the side effects that are noted on this medicine's Prescribing Information were a harsh reality. Side effects include:

• painful muscle spasms

• swelling of extremities
• Parkinson's-like symptoms (shaking, grimacing)

Some Reglan reviews that are easily found on the Internet include descriptions of the worst possible symptoms of Reglan — tardive dyskinesia, a severe and potentially permanent movement disorder, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), a life-threatening disease.
