NuvaRing® birth control has been linked to several side effects that range from mild to extremely serious, even life-threatening. The relatively minor potential side effects known to be associated with the NuvaRing® - brand vaginal ring include:

• breast tenderness
• vaginal dryness

Many Serious NuvaRing® Side Effects

• heart attack
• stroke
• blood clot in the leg or lung
• increased risk of breast cancer
• bleeding irregularities

NuvaRing® Deaths and Lawsuits

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the federal agency responsible for monitoring the safety of drugs and medical devices market in the U.S., has received several reports of deaths linked to NuvaRing® use.

• chest pain (angina pectoris)
• diabetes with complications
• headaches with neurological symptoms
• heart valve or heart rhythm disorders
• known or suspected breast cancer or cancer of the lining of the uterus, cervix, or vagina
• unexplained vaginal bleeding
