"Vancouver Found at Fault in Lawsuit"

The motorcycle accident lawsuit that was filed against Vancouver was recently settled for $300,000.

A jury found that the accident, which happened four years ago, was the city’s responsibility since it involved a Washington policeman.

Motorcyclist and Police Car Collide

Gary L. Graham was on his motorcycle riding westbound in the early morning when Officer Chris Kershaw crossed two lanes without signaling or flashing his sirens.

Witnesses claim Graham did everything to avoid crashing into the police car but couldn’t prevent the accident and collided into the back of the vehicle at 30 miles per hour.

“His injuries were so severe that one of the WSP troopers at the scene reported that Graham was brain dead and was being taken to the hospital to donate organs,” states the court report.

Man Suffers Brain Damage

According to reports, Graham experienced severe brain injuries and head trauma from the accident, as well as a back injury and broken leg.

Doctors soon diagnosed him with cognitive disorder linked to traumatic brain injuries.

Lawsuit Filed Against City

Following his diagnosis, a suit was filed against the city and placed blame on Kershaw for the accident and Graham’s injuries.

The settlement will supposedly help Graham and his family pay for his past and future medical expenses as well as compensate for his lost wages.
