A father and son living in Tualatin, Washington, are currently facing up to $5,000 in fines and two civil suits involving their dogs.
The men reportedly own Rottweiler dogs that bit two other dogs and a person at the Tualatin Community Park.
Edward and Michael Leonard are both facing charges after two dogs in their care turned violent on three separate occasions while at the park.
According to reports, Carol Scott was walking her Greyhound at the park when the two Rottweiler’s, owned by the Leonard’s, began attacking the dog.
Scott’s Greyhound supposedly suffered from severe injuries to his hind legs.
In another report, Susan Waymire was jogging when her dog Lucy was attacked by the ferocious dogs.
“There ladies are really concerned with the continual nature of the dogs being brought to the park,” says Keith Dozier, the attorney for the plaintiffs.
After the attacks occurred, the Washington County Animal Services issued the two men each five citations.
However, the citations didn’t prevent the dogs from attacking another dog and person days later.
The lawsuit filed against the men claims the Rottweilers were trained as attack animals before the Leonard’s purchased them five years ago.
