"Federal Grand Jury Seeking Information on Rezulin Diabetes Drug"

The Justice Department is investigating how Pfizer Inc., the world''s largest drug company, marketed its diabetes drug Rezulin. In Maryland, a federal grand jury wants testimony from former Warner-Lambert Co. employees regarding Rezulin. In 2000, Pfizer bought Warner-Lambert and that same year a Rezulin recall was issued after personal injury lawsuits claimed Rezulin damaged patients'' livers. In January 2004, Pfizer had announced it reach agreements involving 35,000 people whose Rezulin lawsuits were settled or withdrawn.
