Safety concerns about Lariam anti-malaria pill continues to be raised. After a Fort Carson Green Beret committed suicide weeks after returning home from Iraq, the Defense Department researchers have asked for a blood sample. The soldier was believed to have taken Lariam, which the FDA has warned can cause side effects like anxiety, suicidal thoughts, suicide, as well as a host of other dangers. While it is unknown if Lariam is a direct cause of suicide, reports continue to be made. Lariam side effects can still be experienced after discontinuing the use of the drug.
