A Texas seafood processing plant has had a wrongful death suit filed against it for failing to provide medical help for a man who was injured while working at their facilities.
Sidnitra Bias has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Gulf Harvest Seafood on behalf of the estate of Sidney Carroll Prevost Jr.
Prevost died at the company’s facility last September after suffering a knock to his head while performing his usual work duties. After receiving the blow to his head, he asked his superiors to take him to the hospital, but instead they told him to lie down in the break room.
Later in the work-day, the unsupervised Prevost was found dead in the break room.
The suit alleges Gulf Harvest was guilty of negligence and could have prevented Prevost’s death. The suit asserts that the company’s neglectful reaction to the situation caused Prevost’s death.
