"Botched Plastic Surgery Case Awarded $8.25 Million"

A Florida Woman was awarded $8.25 million after a botched breast augmentation and lift procedure caused her to lose both breasts.

Christy Allis was 28 when she decided to undergo plastic surgery in 2003 with Dr. Luciano Boemi. During the procedure, her blood supply was cut off from her areolae, causing her breasts to turn black and form dry, hard tissue.

Allis was forced to have 13 more surgeries to repair the wounds and reshape the remaining breast tissue, which ultimately resulted in the loss of both breasts.

According to the medical malpractice lawsuit, Dr. Boemi failed to adequately warn Allis that the breast procedures could damage her body. Furthermore, the suit alleges that Boemi failed to ensure Allis was receiving continued blood flow, which caused her to lose feeling in her breasts.

The Florida jury awarded Allis $250,000 for medical bills and $8 million for her pain and suffering. “Christy suffered a great deal,” said her attorney Jeff Garvin. “It was a fair verdict and we are pleased with it.”
