MiniMed Insulin Pumps Recalled

In July 2009, Medtronic, Inc. recalled some 3 million MiniMed Paradigm Quick-Set ® Infusion Insulin pumps. Infusion sets are used in conjunction with the MiniMed Insulin Pump. The infusion set is a disposable tube that delivers insulin from the pump to the patient in controlled increments.

"Lot 8" Quick-Set Infusion sets with reference numbers MMT-396, MMT-397, MMT-398 and MMT-399 were involved in the recall because of a manufacturing defect that could, potentially, cause a patient to receive too much or too little insulin. A wrong dose of insulin can cause severe injuries and death.

Traumatic Injuries Spark Lawsuits

Since the defective pumps were recalled, our attorneys have been investigating complaints from diabetic patients who have suffered problems including:

  • Death
  • Blood clots and stroke
  • Arrhythmia and heart attack
  • Kidney damage/failure
  • Diabetic coma
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Hyperglycemia
  • Insulin shock
  • Vision damage
  • Paralysis
  • Injuries from falls/accidents

If you’ve been injured, don’t let your injuries go without recourse. Contact us to discuss the unique circumstances of your case.

Our injury and death lawyers are investigating all MiniMed cases. Our evaluations are not limited to persons injured by the recalled "Lot 8" infusion sets. To discuss the details of your unique circumstances, please contact our law offices today.
