FDA approved in December 1996, Levaquin is a prescription fluoroquinolone antibiotic drug that, when taken orally or injected, is effective at treating serious bacterial infections in nearly any part of the body. Levaquin is generically known as levofloxacin and is currently known to cause a number of rare but serious side effects. In the worst cases, Levaquin side effects can be deadly.

To prevent irreversible, devastating damage to their health, it's crucial that patients:

Indications that patients are developing a Levaquin toxic reaction include:

• Acute joint pain and/or swelling
• Blistering and/or red rashes on the skin
• Bloody or watery diarrhea
• Burning, tingling or numbness in the hands and/or feet
• Confusion
• Depression
• Easy bruising
• Faint or pounding heartbeat
• Fever
• Hallucinations
• Weakness
• Yellowed skin and/or darker urine (signs of jaundice and liver damage)
