Hydroxycut has been linked to serious, life threatening Hydroxycut side effects including liver injuries. While it is no secret that diet pills are not the healthiest choice, Hydroxycut injuries are especially scary because they can have fatal effects.

In an advisory letter sent out May 1, 2009, the FDA advised consumers to stop using the dangerous products.

Hydroxycut Recall Based on Liver Injuries

Shortly after the FDA Hydroxycut warning letter came out and disclosed the link between liver damage and Hydroxycut, Iovate Health Sciences (with the help of the FDA) recalled the majority of Hydroxycut-branded products. The recall was based on the risk of liver failure in dieters and bodybuilders who use the supplements for weight loss and energy boosts.

Symptoms of Hydroxycut Liver Injuries

Patients who experienced liver damage from Hydroxycut have complained about the following symptoms:

• Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
• Brown, darkened urine
• Excessive fatigue and weakness
• Vomiting and nausea
• Chronic itching
• Lightened stools
• Loss of appetite
• Abdominal pain
