Hydroxycut-branded products have been pulled from the U.S. market due to potential life-threatening health risks. The makers of the weight loss supplements issued a Hydroxycut recall, May 1, 2009, following a warning letter written by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall includes 14 of their Hydroxycut-branded products.
The FDA issued a warning against Hydroxycut use based on 23 confirmed cases of liver damage among users and one death. Although the FDA says the risk of liver damage may be low among Hydroxycut users, it still encouraged consumers to terminate use immediately.
