Gleevec Side Effects

Widely prescribed for its efficacy in treating cancer patients, Gleevec is not without serious side effects. A study performed at the Anderson Cancer Center in Houston found that the drug''s most serious side effect is Gleevec congestive heart failure .

Researchers studied data from 10 patients who developed congestive heart failure while taking Gleevec. None of the patients had a prior history of heart problems.
