Digitek Recall – April 2008

In April 2008, drug manufacturer Activis Totowa LLC, issued a mandatory Digitek recall, after discovering that some of the Digitek tablets may have contained a double dose of the active ingredient, digitalis. In response to the Digitek recall, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) immediately posted a safety alert directed to healthcare professionals and patients noting that hundreds of patient injuries had been linked to the defective batch of Digitek.

A Digitek overdose can result in catastrophic injuries and death. Individuals affected by the defective Digitek will qualify to recover compensation from the drug manufacturer by filing a Digitek lawsuit.

The Digitek that was recalled in April 2008 was manufactured by Actavis Totowa, but it was distributed by two companies, and is labeled as follows:

Both of these are in oral tablet form. All strengths/dosages of the tablets were recalled.
