A class action crestor lawsuit may be the appropriate legal option for people who have suffered serious injury as a result of regular use of this prescription drug. Crestor (rosuvastatin) is a cholesterol-reducing statin drug produced by the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. Consumer advocacy groups like Public Citizen have warned of Crestor's serious side effects since this drug was first approved in the United States. These groups argue that patients who take Crestor are at a high risk of suffering serious side effects and claim that the FDA and AstraZeneca have failed to adequately protect Crestor users. These advocacy groups have urged the government to ban this medication, but have not filed a class action Crestor lawsuit on behalf of Crestor users.

The rate of reported kidney problems for Crestor is 75 times higher than it is for any other drug in its class. At least 30 Crestor users have developed rhabdomyolysis and kidney failure since this drug was approved in the United States. Despite extensive knowledge of the serious risks associated with Crestor use, the government and AstraZeneca have taken no steps to protect the public from this dangerous drug.
