Although Sarkisyam's doctors said the teen had a 65 percent chance of living for another six months after the surgery, CIGNA refused to cover the transplant procedure.

The health insurance company justified its action by saying that the liver transplant procedure is too risky and there isn't enough evidence to prove that the patient would be safe.
