In the event of a plane crash, many passengers are unaware of what they should do because they have not taken the time to learn airline safety. At the beginning of every flight the flight attendants give a preflight overview of what the passengers should do in the event of an emergency. These preflight instructions can end up saving passengers from injury or even fatality.
During the preflight instructions, the flight attendant will review the safety measures that the passengers can follow along with by viewing the manual in the seat pocket. The flight attendant''s safety presentation will include pointing out the emergency exit locations that can allow all airline passengers to quickly and safely exit the plane in the event of an emergency. Any hesitation, though, can lead to the possibility of more injuries and fatalities.
There are other safety precautions that passengers can take to reduce the risk of death and injury in the event that an airline crash occurs. More desirable airplane seats do exist, including the exit, aisle, and wing exit seats that can allow the passenger to more quickly exit the airplane. Passengers wearing certain clothing materials are also more likely to suffer injury in a plane crash because they are more likely to melt under high heat and burn the passenger''s skin.
Becoming an educated airplane passenger can prevent unnecessary death and injury if a plane should crash. There are stats showing when an airplane crash occurs, 80% of them are not fatal but the passenger does not know how to react, resulting in death. Understanding how to be a safe and informed passenger can benefit everybody on the plane.
