drug_recall accutaneAccutane results have been widely hailed as the most successful results of any medication that is intended to improve severe acne conditions. Accutane results are often drastic and have been considered by some medical experts to be a breakthrough in acne treatment research. Accutane results are the product of isotretinoin action, a vitamin A derivative that can deliver powerful effects. Accutane results are usually achieved within four to six weeks and the cost of the treatment averages from five to seven hundred dollars. Accutane results are intended to help patients with severe acne. The drug has not been approved, however, to treat mild and moderate forms of acne.
Accutane results have been very controversial since it was first approved by the FDA in 1982. Many experts claim that the beneficial Accutane results do not outweigh the serious side effects that are associated with this medication. Accutane results and risks have become so controversial that in 2004 the FDA listed Accutane as one of the top five most dangerous prescription drugs available on the market today.
Despite potentially positive Accutane results, Accutane is also associated with serious and potentially fatal side effects. Accutane use is extremely disastrous to women who are pregnant. The use of Accutane results in a threefold increase in the risk of suffering a spontaneous abortion for pregnant Accutane users. Accutane has also been shown to cause sixty two types of birth defects and occur in one-quarter of all Accutane patients who take this drug during pregnancy. Accutane results have also been shown to cause fetal death during pregnancy or after birth. Because of these deleterious Accutane results, the FDA has mandated that all patients sign a waver stating that they understand the serious risks associated with Accutane and agree to use two forms of birth control for the entire duration of treatment and for at least one month after termination of treatment.
In addition to theses serious risks, Accutane results have long been associated with serious psychological side effects including depression and suicide. Between 1998 and 2000 alone, Accutane use was associated with 51 suicide attempts, 54 successful suicides, 111 cases of suicidal ideation, and 160 cases of adverse psychological Accutane results that required patient hospitalization. Thousands of cases of adverse psychological Accutane results have been reported to the FDA since this drug was approved in the early 1980s.
Because of the serious risks posed to Accutane users, it is important for a patient to speak with their doctor to determine if potential Accutane results outweigh the serious risks in your case. Accutane results have the potential to cause more damage than benefit to patients. If you have questions about Accutane results, you may wish to speak to your health care provider about Accutane in greater detail. If you have suffered adverse Accutane results, you may wish to contact a qualified legal professional who can advise you of your rights and options in a lawsuit to recover what you have lost as a result of your Accutane injuries.
