Prescribed to patients with moderate to severe nodular acne, Accutane (isotretinoin) is an effective treatment that clears the skin when other treatments have failed. A powerful derivative of Vitamin A, Accutane® is typically prescribed in 10-mg, 20-mg and 40-mg doses and taken orally for duration of about six months.
